i assume.
i assume too much.
all the time.
and i know my assumptions are
just that.
so i keep my mouth shut.

that one awful time
i didn’t keep my voice down
things went from bad
in my head
to worse
not in my head.
so i keep my mouth shut.
at least if nothing else
i learn from my mistakes
even if it takes more
than just one fall
